Please submit your nominations for these positions as soon as possible to bschwab@wisc.edu. Nominations for these positions will be accepted up until the beginning of elections on Saturday, but only those nominations submitted by Friday will appear on the absentee ballot. Absentee Balloting will occur via e-mail to bschwab@wisc.edu on Thursday, May 15, between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM CST. There will a
1. President.
You are in charge of organizing student orientation, the
fall bbq and the spring potluck. Plus, you are responsible whenever
anything goes wrong. It is a fun job, although people like to
complain to you about nearly everything. If you want to be president
you should have a great deal of enthusiasm for the THC, and the
department. You should also be able to spend a few hours a week on
THC stuff, be around during the summer to help with orientation, and be in
direct communication with some form of deity.
2. Vice President. This person has one of the most important
duties
in the THC, assigning offices. So if you want to get out of B-17 this
is your chance, run for Vice President and give yourself a plush
office on the third floor. Besides office assignments, you
should be willing to help when ever the president needs you.
3. Treasurer. If you are the treasurer, you are responsible for
keeping the other officers from spending all the THC money on beer and
pizza. If you can count by 1, 5, 10 and 20 and can say no, you have
the skillz needed to be treasurer.
4. Social Chair. The only office that really matters. You get to
organize happy hours, movie nights, and any other fun activity you
can think of. If you like to hang out with your fellow students this
is the job for you.
5. Student Research Colloquium Facilitator.
This past year a number of students met to discuss research. The responsibility
of the facilitator include: Signing up participants, setting the
schedule, reserving the room, and making sure people participate.

Graduate Committee Reps:
The Graduate Committee representatives attend Graduate
Committee meetings (duh!) and represent student positions during the
deliberation of departmental policy. You serve as the eyes, ears and
mouths of all the students. You will be responsible for informing the
rest of us about what goes on at the meetings, and soliciting our
opinion and voicing it when necessary. Traditionally, we have one
Masters and one PhD student as reps.
