Students interested in the economics or business aspects of agriculture and natural resources.  See the club's website for more information.

Benefits of Joining

The Agricultural Business and Economics Club offers many benefits to members. You are able to gain access to resources for finding internships and jobs. You can participate in activities to enhance your professional development. You develop an understanding of issues and problems in the fields of agricultural economics and business. The club also offers field trips that build understanding of agricultural business careers.

Club Events

  • CALS fall picnic
  • Club socials
  • Trips to agricultural businesses, including the Chicago Board of Trade and Federal Reserve, as well as a fall trip to a Brewer's game in Milwaukee
  • Monthly meetings with guest speakers on topics of interest to members
  • Local business tours, such as Kraft/Oscar Mayer

Internships

Many members have had the opportunity to work with companies in the agribusiness industry, including: American Family Insurance, Dairyland Seed, Kraft, USDA, work on dairy farms.

Ask your advisor, or contact the club president, Emily Bacon (bacon@wisc.edu) or the club advisor, Professor Paul Mitchell (pdmitchell@wisc.edu). 

In spring 2008 the club will meet at 7 p.m. in Taylor Hall on the 4th Tuesday of every month:  February 26, March 25 and April 22.
