The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics has a public terminal server for use by authorized users.
What is a terminal server?
A terminal server allows multiple users to remotely login to a single server, and creating a virtual computer. It allows these users to use special software or access internal network resources from anywhere in the world.
Why would I use this?
There are several potential reasons.
- Get access to specialty software (see below) that is normal only in the computer lab or on certain faculty PCs.
- Access your network files from home.
- Run an extended job that could take several hours, without tying up the computer lab.
Who can use this?
Anyone who has an AAE login account.
