Current and recent funded research projects

 
Vietnam: globalization, poverty and the environment (ongoing, 2005+)
A set of activities aimed at understanding the linkages between globalization and welfare, both broadly defined, in Vietnam.  Specific questions related to the economic effects of WTO accession and the likely demands on the natural resource base due to pursuit of comparative advantage.

Philippines/Vietnam:  SANREM-Southeast Asia project
(ongoing, 2005-06)
SANREM CRSP stands for Sustainable Agriculure, Natural Resources and Environmental Management Collaborative Research Support Program, now in its third phase.  

Thailand: Growth, crisis, and environment (completed 2003)
Results of research conducted in 1999-2000 on aspects of the decade of growth and collapse of the Thai economy, with special attention to agricultural resource allocation, migration and policy. 

Philippines: SANREM-Southeast Asia project, Phase II (1998-2004)
Multidisciplinary research on upland agricultural development and natural resource management located (primarily) in a watershed in the southern Philippines.  Includes economic research at farm, local and national scales, policy simulation models, integrated agronomic-economic models, outreach, policy advice and advocacy, and more.
